VitaSoil Cocoa Shell Mulch

VitaSoil products from the LaBudde Group, Inc., in Grafton, Wisconsin are for gardeners who prefer using organic matter rather than chemical or synthetic materials to nourish their plants. They also are renewable resources.

Cocoa shells are a by-product of chocolate manufacturing which usually found their way to the landfill after they were separated from the cocoa bean during processing. Now, they are proving to be a superior ground cover. Bone meal is a natural by-product of the food processing industry. It is high in phosphorous, a critical nutrient for plant and flower development. Farmers have used it for centuries to replace the phosphorous removed from the soil by their crops. Vegetables, for example, typically remove 10 to 50 pounds of phosphorous from an acre of soil every year.

Our goal at LaBudde Group since 1907 has been to find new applications and uses for by-products from a multitude of sources with a renewed emphasis on those which are environmentally friendly. The VitaSoil product line is just one example of our efforts to bring 100% natural products to the market.
