A
natural bond
Three or four days after
the initial watering you will notice a white mold has formed on top of the
cocoa shell mulch. This is perfectly natural because it indicates that the
gum has activated and is bonding the cocoa shells together. The mold will
not harm your plants and within a day or two it will disappear.
Whenever you add more
cocoa shells be sure to repeat the watering step. Unused shells should be
stored in a dry place.

Bugged by snails and slugs?
VitaSoil Cocoa Shell Mulch is a great and natural way to keep these pests
away from your prized plants - especially Hostas. They do not like going over
cocoa shells because the edges - at least to them - are very sharp. Cats have
even been known to avoid gardens where there is cocoa shell mulch. |
